Rp 1 Billion Trucks Donated to Jakarta Government

City Administration gets three garbage trucks worth Rp 1 million from Mandiri Bank. The aid was handed directly by Mandiri Bank President Director, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, to Jakarta Vice Governor, Basuki T Purnama, in East Parking Senayan yard, Central Jakarta, Sunday (5/4).

If it is aimed for a good environment, they actually want to donate and as long as it is not adverse the state, why don’t we receive? They do not want to take any advantage

Basuki appreciated the aid of three garbage trucks from CSR Mandiri Bank since the cash aid would be vulnerable to frauds and difficult to be tracked in the city administration bureaucracy system.

“If it is aimed for a good environment, they actually want to donate and as long as it is not adverse the state, why don’t we receive? They do not want to take any advantage,” Basuki stated.

Littering, 30 Resident' KTPs Confiscated

He also admitted that the garbage trucks are directly inventoried by the city Cleanliness Department. “We will operate these granted trucks as optimal as possible to transport thousand tons of garbage in the city. Moreover, the city still needs more garbage trucks,” stated the former of Belitung Timur Regent.

Basuki also urged residents to support the city administration in cleaning the garbage in the city.

“Help us not to litter. If you meet garbage, try to put it in your pocket, easy right? With that, Jakarta could be comfy. Definitely,” he added.

Basuki also emphasized that in accordance with the applied regulation, the resident who caught on littering will be subjected with misdemeanor. Yet, the regulation establishment is still hard to be applied since the process depends on a judge.

“We should see other countries. If you litter then caught, and you protest, you’ll be ticketed and reported to the judge. But if you found yourself are in fault then just pay the penalty. We are planning an effective regulation to discipline the residents on littering,” he completed.
